Max Adventure have been contracted to plan and lead a unique overland expedition from London to Beijing as part of the closing ceremony for the 2008 Olympic Games.
The closing ceremony of the Olympic Games is probably the biggest show on earth, watched by literally billions of people. At the end of the Chinese spectacular, the banner will be handed over to London as the new holder of the Olympic flag. The London Olympic Committee will have just 8 minutes to give the world a taste of what is to come in 2012.
Eight minutes isn't very long though, not when you're trying to follow what is likley to be the biggest firework display ever held, so the Show Directors at London 2012 have come up with a very cunning plan. They intend to extend their show from 8 minutes, not just to 10, but to 3 whole months!
Their plan is to drive a genuine London double-decker bus all the way from London, across all of Europe and Asia, all the way to the Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing in time for the closing ceremony.
Following close consultation with the Royal Geographical Society, Max Adventure was selected to plan and lead this mammoth expedition. Never before has a London bus been driven so far and across terrain that it clearly was not designed for, even Cliff Richard only made it as far as Greece!
