Good roads, no traffic and a starry night!

21:45 :: Day 2 – Ferry 2 After the road works and bad weather of Germany, Denmark was a dream. Good roads, no traffic and a starry night, even through the ‘happy glasses!

We pulled over after a good 12 hours at the wheel. First test of the new bed and a well-earned rest. An early start as we had another Stenaline ferry to catch. Before getting on the ferry, we tanked up with diesel – no problems this time. We filled the tanks in Denmark as the fuel’s cheaper than in Norway.

Straight onto the ferry – no worries.

Our cabin, with a sea view and a top hot shower went a long way to take the diesel smell from me. I was a bit miffed to get kicked out of our cabin two hours before we docked, but that was so the cleaners could get to work before their return leg, so we can’t complain really – it was just great to have a cabin to get a few hours rest. We made up for it by taking advantage of the free re-fills of tea in a glass in the lounge area.

Norwegian Customs were very friendly and didn’t even want to see our passports – just wished us a happy journey.

We’ve had lots of friendly Land Rover owners flashing and waving. We’re currently parked up by the sea near the airport, ready to pick the guys up in the morning.

Sweeping roads and big boats.

Will really loved the drive south to the French coast, with its beautiful Italian sweeping roads that we had to ourselves and ideal for his powerful motorbike.

Where the flippen eck is Lichtenstein?!

We eventually found Lichtenstein on a bridge! There was no border post and barely even a ‘Welcome to Lichtenstein’ sign.
