We were looking through the maps, doing our final calculations while waiting for the team, when a local Norwegian gent came over to see what we were up to. We chatted to him for half an hour and gave him one of our business cards so that he could follow our progress.
We picked up the team from the airport, which made everyone feel that we were really getting started and then drove to our friendly Oslo Land Rover dealer for a small reception. And then we were off – the clock’s running.
In all the heat and excitement of the start, the two vehicles got separated. Our vehicle getting caught up in the Oslo rush-hour traffic, but we met up with the other vehicle at a Gothenburg McDonalds – all was well after that!
