On the P&O ferry on the way home - Bilbao to Portsmouth. In a marvelous cabin to ourselves and a welcome hot shower. We've done over 5,000 miles since we started and I've been very impressed with both Land Rovers. Only on Day 1 did we have small fuel leak and a small electrical problem. Apart from that, both vehicles have performed faultlessly.

P&O Pride of Bilbao
It's been a long and hard trip, but very rewarding and enjoyable. Having driven the Monaco Grand Prix circuit in my Land Rover and sat down having a cup of tea with our Patron, Sir Stirling Moss among the highlights. It was also good to achieve our objective. I have learned a lot about what needs to be done for our African attempt. As a team we have got to know each other well, that I would now call friends.

Was it a successful trip? I think definitely yes. On that point I would like to thank all our sponsors, the UK team of Jon and Steve and Mac and the road team. Many thanks, bring on Africa.

Heading north again

We've just crossed the border from Portugal to Spain heading north. It's the same border we were at a couple of days ago, the finish line.

Will really loved the drive south to the French coast, with its beautiful Italian sweeping roads that we had to ourselves and ideal for his powerful motorbike.

We eventually found Lichtenstein on a bridge! There was no border post and barely even a 'Welcome to Lichtenstein' sign.
