The Support

When operating far from help, it’s reassuring to know that you’ll be backed up by a professional support crew in expedition equipped 4×4’s who are on hand to cover any eventualities.

Delivered by expedition specialists Max Adventure, we have been operating vehicles in extreme environments for over 25 years, in temperatures from -60C to +50C and 18,500 feet above sea level (and everyone has come back!).

We have worked alongside explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Hollywood actor Tom Hardy in places as far-flung as Siberia, the North Pole and Mt Everest.

The History

In 2014, three injured military veterans suffering from PTSD joined the Max Adventure team on a gruelling 12,000 mile overland expedition to far-eastern Siberia as a demonstration of how tough their new model Vivaro vans were. This 60-day adventure through 20 countries was used as a European-wide TV advertising campaign for the company, whilst at the same time support the military charity Help for Heroes.

So profound was the improvement in the veterans’ mental health that the idea of taking injured military veterans on challenging vehicle adventures to aid their recovery from PTSD was conceived.

After 2 years of planning and raising the necessary sponsorship, Driven to Extremes was born in 2017. Under the strapline of ‘Feel Low…Drive High’ our first adventure took a team of veterans to the most extreme northerly point of the UK, a restricted private track to an old military radar site at the very top of the Shetland Isles.

The Duration

Starting in the village of Holme, Cambridgeshire and finishing in the village of Dufton, Cumbria, the event spans 4 days.
